  • Speech Pathologist Grade 2
  • Fixed Term, One Year Contract, Part-time (0.6EFT / 3 days/wk)
  • Based in Moorabbin
  • Situated on the Mental Health & Intellectual Disability for Youth Team and providing discipline specific assessment across ICYAMHWS mainstream teams.

Speech Pathologist Grade 2 (Note: Classification codes are currently being reviewed with regards to the new Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement (2024 - 2028) and this Grade will be updated to Grade 3, but confirmed upon interview)

ABOUT US

The Alfred Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS)

Alfred ICYAMHWS is one component of the Department of Mental & Addiction Health at Alfred Health. We are a community-based service providing comprehensive assessment, treatment and case management to infants, children, adolescents and young people up to the age of 25 years of age presenting with behavioural, emotional, psychiatric or developmental difficulties. 

This position sits on the Mental Health and Intellectual Disability Initiative for Youth (MHIDI-Y) team and provides speech pathology assessment across the clinic. The MHIDI-Y program addresses a critical service gap by providing a specialist, community-based specialist mental health service for young people aged 12 - 26 with an intellectual disability and mental illness.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this role, you will provide case management and speech pathology assessment and intervention within the MHIDI-Y team and across the ICYAMHWS clinic.

You will work with the multi-disciplinary team to contribute to the team assessment, therapeutic intervention with young people and families, care team collaboration and group work as required.

WHAT YOU’VE GOT

  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology (Essential)
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia (Essential)
  • A sound knowledge of current Speech Pathology practices relevant to the position and its theoretical base
  • Clinical paediatric experience or strong interest in children and / or adolescents presenting with social, emotional, learning and behavioural problems
  • Appropriate work visa
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one and be willing to undergo a Background Check
