The Department

The Finance Program provides financial and ancillary services to Bayside Health. These include Financial Accounting, Financial Services, Data and Analytics, Performance Monitoring and Reporting, Capital Expenditure and Asset Management, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Patient Revenue Services, Treasury, HRIS, Payroll & Corporate Services, Procurement, Property and Supply Chain.

The Role

The Data Business Analyst will assist with planning and executing the migration of all HR and payroll data from current systems to the new Bayside SuccessFactors instance. This role requires a solid understanding of data migration principles, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) techniques. The candidate will report on a day-to-day basis to a workstream lead and work closely with our implementation partner, wider project team and other stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and project success.

Key Duties and Responsbilities

  • Help develop and implement the data migration strategies and plans required to populate the new single SuccessFactors solution with all current and historical data necessary from all three Care Groups.
  • Collaborate with health service SMEs and other stakeholders across HR, Finance, and operational teams to gather, understand and validate data sets and business requirements.
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities.
  • Help design a quality management plan for data migration activities including validation of loaded data to ensure data integrity, accuracy and efficiency during migration processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues.
  • Create and help maintain a progress tracker for all data migration activities and stages.
  • Assist with identifying and tracking any associated risks and issues, devising and executing suitable mitigation plans where needed.
  • Contribute to reporting on migration progress and performance, escalating risks and issues along with any assistance needed in a timely fashion.
  • Preparation of any necessary project documentation and records

Key capabilities

  • Proven experience working as a data migration analyst on similar large system delivery projects, within a team and/or transformation program, in a complex matrix environment
  • Experience of SAP SuccessFactors or other large-scale HRIS solutions e.g. Workday
  • Knowledge and understanding, plus hands on experience of ETL tools, software and processes
  • Organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work in cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail along with advanced analytical skills
  • Proactive and creative approach to problem solving where situations are complex
  • Strong command of data modelling, mapping and transformation techniques
  • Database management and SQL querying and scripting abilities
  • Strong technical writing, documentation and communication skills

Qualifications and Experience Required

Essential          

  • Demonstrated experience of SuccessFactors, Workday or other similar enterprise level HRIS software data migration work
    Experience of ETL tools and methodologies to move and transform large quantities of complex data between different systems and environments
  • Experience working within a high-volume environment
  • Ability to think logically, critically, and constructively about complex problems, and propose creative solutions that address business needs
  • An ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment, using your own judgment and taking the initiative in problem resolution
  • Willingness to challenge and ask questions
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Enthusiasm and drive to achieve excellent results
  • MS Office Applications – Advanced to Intermediate level depending on individual relevance

Desirable         

  • Health industry experience is desirable
