About us

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services, which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner Southeastern area of Melbourne.

The single most important goal of AMAH is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.

The Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response is a psychosocial support model targeted to adult clients of the clinical mental health service system living with a severe mental illness and associated psychiatric disability who are: 

not eligible for the NDIS because they do not have significant, permanent functional impairment/s associated with their mental health condition, or

are eligible for the NDIS and are waiting for an access decision and their NDIS plan to begin. 

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of the Early Interventions Psychosocial Support Response initiative, which has been funded by The Department of Health and Human Services. The Alfred Care Group contracts a community-managed mental health provider/s of Mental Health Community Support Service (MHCSS) to provide the services. This role is responsible for the implementation and co-ordination of these services as well as act as the key liaison for the external and internal key stakeholders.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications and registration with the Occupational Therapy Board via AHPRA, or eligibility with AASW.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Experience in a range of mental health interventions indicating an ability to perform community-based mental health assessment including that of risk assessment. 
  • Previous leadership experience is desirable.
  • Australian working rights.
  • Current Influenza vaccinations.
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Satisfactory Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check.
