On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

The Department 

This is an incredible opportunity to join a fantastic team in a recently redeveloped Emergency Department. We treat patients who are suffering from serious illness or injury that could lead to severe complications if medical treatment is not received quickly. We strive to ensure all patients receive timely, high-quality care and receive prompt, upfront assessment by the most senior doctor available to minimise the time spent waiting.

The Role

As a clinical nurse, your practice will lead to excellent inpatient care. You understand the importance of establishing a relationship between the patient and yourself in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for your patients. You demonstrate the core nursing values of patient-centred care, trust and respect in every interaction with patients, carers and colleagues. As a nurse you are accountable for establishing and evaluating the patient’s plan of care in partnership with the patient, their carers and other members of the health care team. You are supported in your role as a clinical nurse by all other nursing positions.

Qualifications and Experience Required 

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patient-focused
  • Professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Hold valid working rights

We offer a comprehensive orientation program and regular in-house education programs. The Department has Clinical Educators available 7 days a week as well as Clinical Support & Development Nurses to support staff in their development.
