The Department
General Medical Ward, G2 Sandringham Hospital
Ward G2 is an acute general medical ward with 10 plus beds that cares for patients with both acute and chronic conditions. G2 can be a fast-paced environment which requires the ward clerk at front of house to be able to priorities tasks, work well within a team and escalate in a timely way.
The Role
The Ward Clerk position is part of the G2 team who engages with patients, families, the Multidisciplanary team & other departments as part of their daily role. The Ward Clerk is responsible for maintaining up to date patient data throughout their admission & works closely with the NM & Resource Nurse to provide prompt management of admissions, discharges & transfers of patients.
Experience and Skills Required
- Has previous experience within a healthcare setting
- Has high level of expertise in Microsoft Office packages & previous IT knowledge of hospital systems
- Has advanced communication skills
- Can work as part of a complex team & independently within their scope of practice
- Excellent time management skills
- Previous consumer engagement experience
