We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

The Department
Alfred Health Radiation Oncology (AHRO) is a unit of a comprehensive cancer service, with sites located at The Alfred - Melbourne (ARO) and Gippsland Radiation Oncology (GRO) at Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) - Traralgon. The service provides the full range of general radiation oncology and radiation therapy services in addition to some specialised services with both state and national significance.
Location Summary
The Latrobe Regional Health is located in the only regional city in eastern Victoria. Latrobe City consists of many small townships and the main towns of Moe, Morwell and Traralgon.
Gippsland Radiation Oncology is situated at the Latrobe Regional Health site in Traralgon, Latrobe Valley.

The Role
A range of contracts for Grade 1/2 Radiation Therapist positions are on offer at Gippsland Radiation Oncology (GRO). The positions are responsible for performing routine radiation treatment planning and treatment delivery. Salary commensurate with experience within the Grade 1/2 level.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- General skills and knowledge base in radiation therapy practice commensurate with entry-level qualifications at degree or master's level
- Ability to manage allocated workload efficiently and effectively and within acceptable timeframes, at times with some senior assistance for more complex planning, treatment or problem solving situations relative to experience
- Awareness of quality and safety issues
- Engagement with continuing professional development
- Interpersonal and communication skills
