About the Department
The Radiology Department provides the following services to all patients of Alfred Health and to general practitioners and specialists outside The Alfred:
- Angiography (Diagnostic and Interventional)
- Bone Densitometry
- Computed Tomography (CT Scan)
- Fluoroscopy
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Mammography
- Urology
- Ultrasound
- General Radiography (X-ray)
- Contracted services for clinical trials
- Education
- Clinical conferences
The Department also conducts its own research activities.
About the Role
Applications are invited for the position of Specialist in Neuroradiology (Part Time) at Alfred Health to work 19 hours per week.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:
- Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice
- Fellow of the relevant college
- Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Radiology
- Meeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Radiology
- Outstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skills
- Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels
- Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/ other teams.
Requisites: in addition to the standard requirements for a diagnostic radiologist and appointment to senior medical staff at Alfred Health:
- Essential:
- Experience in advanced thoracic imaging and/or interest in upskilling in this subspecialty area.
- Ability to prepare and chair general respiratory, lung cancer and interstitial lung disease multidisciplinary meetings.
- Competence with CT guided chest biopsies.
- Competence in general abdominal and pelvic imaging
- Preferred:
- Thoracic imaging fellowship
- Recency of practice in abdominal/pelvic MRI
- Research interests
