The Neurosurgery and Orthopaedics Departments of The Alfred have extensive experience in managing the full variety of spinal pathologies including congenital conditions, degenerative conditions, infections, oncology, vascular lesions, and trauma. The Alfred is one of two Level One Trauma Centres in the state of Victoria and has extensive experience in the management of complex multi-trauma including spine trauma. The two departments have a highly collegial relationship and hold joint audit and clinical meetings, a feature of our service that creates a unique learning opportunity for a fellow.
Alfred Health has an opportunity for a part-time Spine Fellow for a 12-month period commencing February 2024. The Fellow will be assigned to both Neurosurgery and Orthopaedics departments and work 25 hours per week. They will participate in spine surgery, attend clinics, and take a leading role in clinical meetings.
