Department

The Epidemiology and Data Management Unit provide important data support to the Department of Infectious Diseases.  The Unit consists of a team of data officers, analyst and a Unit Manager.  The team provides a broad range of data products including data extracts, reports and analytics tools (such as dashboarding) for the clinical service, research projects and epidemiology activities of the Department.   

Position Summary

This position will involve working within the Infectious Diseases Unit Data Management team supporting the Infectious Diseases Unit data requirements including Infection Prevention and the Victorian HIV Service. You will provide supervision, direction and support to the data clerks with the Manager and you will work closely with key clinicians and researchers to address and respond to their data collection and data needs.  You will be responsible for data collection and management, database development, research and associated statistical analysis of information and involvement in quality assurance within the unit.  The position will under the direction of the Manager EDMS and Antimicrobial Stewardship Program to focus on development of a clinical dashboard to support the AMS Program clinical and auditing work and reporting requirements.  They will provide ongoing support to teh AMS Program and research staff.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in an appropriate health, business or technology field
  • Good IT skills with experience working with SQL databases and reporting/dashboard tools
  • Performance reporting and data analysis experience
