An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Manager to lead Carer Services across the Southern Metropolitan Region.

The Department

Bayside Health Carer Services (Carer Services) supports carers, the person being supported and care relationships in a client-centred, timely and responsive manner. Carer Services is funded by State and Commonwealth Governments to deliver multiple programs including phone support, in person support services, peer support, information and social activities to carers (including young carers) of people who are aged, living with dementia, have a disability or chronic illness, and/or mental illness. Carer Services sits within the Home, Acute and Community (HAC) program at the Alfred Care Group. Carer Services covers the southern metropolitan region from offices at Caulfield Hospital.

The Role

The Manager is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality, integrated services to support Carers delivered through innovative and efficient service models in accordance with Bayside Health strategic directions and Commonwealth and State Government requirements. Key to the role is working in partnership with Holstep Health as part of the Carer Gateway Consortium to deliver Commonwealth funded Carer services.The Manager role includes accountability for the overall development, coordination and delivery of carer services. This position is responsible for monitoring the achievement of all operational and financial performance targets

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, Behavioural Science, Social Sciences or Welfare 
  • Demonstrated management experience in a relevant community or health setting
  • Experience in health, government or services sectors
  • Understanding of the health care sector and Community services and funding arrangements
  • Experience in managing a multidisciplinary team 
  • Demonstrated understanding and awareness of issues facing carers and people from diverse communities
  • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership across different organisations within the community and health sector
