The Department
ACE, G3 Sandringham Hospital
The Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) model now sits in Ward G3 at Sandringham Hospital. This 12+ bed unit provides 24/7 General Medical care for older persons with acute care needs and geriatric syndromes. We are focused on enhancing independence and functional ability, the multidisciplinary team offers comprehensive assessments within the first 24 hours, with ongoing support from Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health professionals, as well as Geriatric Consultant care.
The Role
The Ward Clerk position is part of the G3/ACE team who engages with patients, families, the Multidisciplanary team & other departments as part of their daily role. The Ward Clerk is responsible for maintaining up to date patient data throughout their admission & works closely with the NM & Resource Nurse to provide prompt management of admissions, discharges & transfers of patients.
Experience and Skills Required
- Has previous experience within a healthcare setting
- Has high level of expertise in Microsoft Office packages & previous IT knowledge of hospital systems
- Has advanced communication skills
- Can work as part of a complex team & independently within their scope of practice
- Excellent time management skills
- Previous consumer engagement experience
