About the Department
Renal Medicine is part of the Alfred Care Group Specialty Medicine program. The Renal service provides a broad range of care across all aspects of acute and chronic kidney disease, dialysis and kidney transplantation. The Alfred Care Group Renal team of doctors, specialist nursing and allied health staff provide inpatient care (general, transplant and consult ward service), outpatient clinics,  home dialysis, satellite dialysis (Caulfield and Sandringham campuses), and kidney transplantation. Alfred Care Group Renal service also provides hub support for dialysis care across the Peninsula Care Group and Regional Care Group catchments. Education, research and quality improvement are fundamental components of the service's commitment to excellent patient-focused care.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Management of renal inpatient and consult care with consultant supervision and renal advanced trainee support
• Outpatient specialist renal clinics with consultant supervision
• Participation in the renal registrar after-hours on-call roster
• Clinical support to home dialysis and satellite haemodialysis units (on-site at Caulfield and Sandringham) with consultant supervision
• Active participation in department meetings
