The Department

Alfred Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is friendly to infants, children, young people and their families/carers. We provide accessible mental health services. We welcome consumers, inclusive of family, friends and support networks so we can provide the best collaborative care for our young people.

Our service is divided into two streams 0-11 and 12-26 years, and includes specialist services in the areas of perinatal care, neurodevelopmental presentations, eating disorders and outreach support.

We pride ourselves on our specialist, multi-disciplinary approach to mental health care incorporating the lived and living experience of family peer specialists and youth peer workers.

The Role

This is a speech pathology discipline-specific role providing assessments, consultation and intervention across the 0-26 age range. As a member of the Infant and Child Team, you will also provide case management, clinical assessment and intervention for infants and children (aged 0-11) experiencing emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties and their families. 

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Experienced speech pathologist
  • Sound knowledge of Speech Pathology practice in Mental Health
