The Department

The Finance Program provides financial and ancillary services to Bayside Health.  These include Financial Accounting, Financial Services, Data and Analytics, Performance Monitoring and Reporting, Capital Expenditure and Asset Management, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Patient Revenue Services, Treasury, HRIS, Payroll & Corporate Services, Procurement, Property and Supply Chain.

The Role

Bayside Health commenced operation on 1 January 2026 with the merger of Alfred Health, Peninsula Health, Koo Wee Rup Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health.  Bayside Health is now undertaking activities to standardise processes and systems that are used across the previous individual health services. 
The human resource information systems (HRIS) is one such cluster of systems that requires integration across Bayside Health.

This Business Analyst will work in data analysis, planning, and helping to implement the Kronos UKG PRO system and mobile app. They will be researching existing systems solutions to evaluate their impacts and provide analysis and reporting on the As Is – To Be of current Rostering and Timekeeping processes. Working as an integral part of the project team this role is pivotal to this project’s success.

The role will be instrumental in:

  • Driving awareness of requirements across business units and identify substandard systems processes through evaluation of real-time data.
  • Determining and developing user requirements for systems in production, to ensure maximum usability.
  • Supporting data migration and testing efforts.
  • Supporting training and change efforts.
  • Perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development.  
  • The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring that UKG PRO is fully adopted into daily operations for long-term success.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across business units (ex: nursing, finance, medical, compliance) to develop analyses and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with staff, managerial, and executive teams.
  • Evaluate, analyse, and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis, and maintain systems processes, including the delivery of analysis reports to all appropriate parties.
  • Assist in updating internal documentation and formally initiate and deliver documentation.
  • Conduct daily systems analytics to maximise effectiveness and troubleshoot problems.
  • Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimised systems integration and respond to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience required

Essential

  • Five or more years of experience in analytics and systems development
  • High proficiency with SQL and database management
  • Proven analytical abilities
  • Experience in generating process documentation and reports
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights

Desirable

  • Experience in government, financial services or healthcare industries is advantageous
  • Lean-Agile, Human Centred Design, Behavioural Change disciplines or certifications is also an advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications, including Visio
  • Extensive experience with data visualisation
  • High proficiency in technical writing
