DEPARTMENT

The Surgical Services Program comprises of seventeen surgical units, anaesthesia and perioperative medicine, two operating suites, two surgical inpatient wards, a medical day unit, day of surgery admissions, day surgery, and endoscopy services.

POSITION

The PSC Manager is responsible for the management of key staff and services involved in the coordination of a patient’s journey to surgery, including preparation list management for surgery, patient scheduling and operationalising the preadmission clinic. They also oversee the Vascular Laboratory (Vasc Lab) in consultation with the Vasc Lab Business manager and Perioperative coordinator for Vascular / kidney transplant/ renal access and ensure the provision of sonography service.  

The Manager is responsible for the management of the Alfred theatre schedule, allocation and closure of surgical lists and management of leave. This is in collaboration with the Deputy Director of Planned surgery & Ambulatory Services, Nurse Managers of Theatres, Anaesthetic Department and the Director of Operations. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Division 1 registered nurse
  • Degree in Healthcare or Business Management or working towards the same
