- Fixed term (Maternity leave commencing 4/7/2025)
- Full Time (80 hours per fortnight including ADO)

The Department
Alfred Health’s Physiotherapy Department provides acute physiotherapy services to the patients of The Alfred and Sandringham Hospital and subacute physiotherapy services to Caulfield Hospital.
The physiotherapy service at Caulfield Hospital provides an extensive range of inpatient and ambulatory services in the areas of rehabilitation, aged care and residential care services. The Physiotherapy Service provides subacute clinical services and expertise in the following areas: neurology, non-traumatic spinal cord injury, orthopaedics, amputees, burns, complex regional pain, cardiac rehabilitation, aged care, transitional care and aged psychiatry. In addition to these services, the department is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the hydrotherapy pool which has more than 250 clients per day accessing its services. The physiotherapy department is organised into three functional streams: Neurological Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation and Aged Care.
The Position Summary
We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Clinician Physiotherapist to play a pivotal role in our amputee rehabilitation program. This position offers a unique chance to lead and shape our service, making a meaningful impact in the field. You will have the rewarding responsibility of managing a clinical caseload while also mentoring our dedicated Grade 2 and Grade 1 staff, and if desired, guiding aspiring physiotherapy students.
Collaborating closely with the Stream Leader, you will contribute to the operational leadership of our amputee service and the broader musculoskeletal stream. Your expertise and insights will be invaluable in recruitment, staffing, stream planning, and ensuring our team continues to deliver exceptional care. Emphasizing the importance of research and quality activities in amputee rehabilitation, you will inspire the team to push boundaries and strive for excellence.

Skills and Qualifications required
- Registered to practice as a Physiotherapist in the state of Victoria
- Post-graduate qualification in relevant field, (or be working towards) would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skills in the provision of physiotherapy services in amputee, burns, or musculoskeletal/orthopaedic rehab, or similar field
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage a caseload, including the coordination of other staff
- Understanding of outpatient processes, including activity and funding arrangements (such as NDIS) highly regarded
- Demonstrated ability to supervise students and Grade 1 Staff
