The Department

In the Alfred Care Group, Allied Health is renowned for its outstanding patient care, achieved through clinical excellence, professional opportunities, innovation and care for our staff. We are Art Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Dietetics, Disability Liaison Officers, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Orthoptics, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Prosthetics & Orthotics, Psychology, Social Work, Speech Pathology & Language Services, and Spiritual Care, as well as Allied Health Assistants. We work collaboratively as leaders in research, innovation and education to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.   

The Role

Allied Health Professionals in the Allied Health Reliever Pool provide flexible clinical coverage across the Bayside Local Health Service Network to support continuity of care during staff leave and service gaps across various Allied Health disciplines.

These positions support service delivery across Bayside Health (Alfred Care Group, Peninsula Care Group, and Regional Care Group) as well as Calvary Bethlehem Health Care. The location of work is negotiated with the staff member, to provide flexible options for working in a variety of care areas - including hybrid and telehealth models of care where appropriate. The roles are expected to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in local areas to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care while maintaining professional standards, organisational policies, and adaptable service support across different clinical environments. Roles are well supported by the Allied Health Reliever Pool Project Lead, and local on-site professional teams, with robust orientation and supervision processes, and unique professional devlopment and skill building opportunities.  

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Relevant degree in an allied health profession 
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligible for membership with relevant professional body, with adherence to continuing professional development requirements
