The Department

Alfred Health Psychology includes Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology and Forensic Psychology working across AMAH, Acute and Subacute Services. There are approximately 115 psychologists employed at Alfred Health. The majority of psychologists work within AMAH and the Director of Psychology has a dual reporting line to both the Director of Operations AMAH and the Director of Allied Health, Alfred Health.  

The Role

We are seeking an experienced clinical psychologist to lead psychology services across the Alfred Care Group.  The position provides professional leadership for all Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology and Forensic Psychology working across the Addiction and Menal Health Program (AMAH) and Acute and Subacute Services. There are approximately 120 psychologists employed at Alfred Health. The majority of psychologists work within AMAH.  The position retains a dual reporting role through to the Director of Operations AMAH and the Director of Allied Health, Alfred Health. 

Experience and Qualifications Required

Essential

  • Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
  • Endorsement as a specialist Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
  • Relevant Masters or Doctoral degree in Psychology.
  • Minimum ten years’ experience working as a registered psychologist
  • Prior experience of working in a mental health care and/or acute/subacute hospital setting
  • Experience in the delivery and/or management of a Psychology service in a hospital environment
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of Psychology services
  • Extensive experience in the supervision and mentoring of Psychologists, students and support staff.

Desirable

  • Membership of the APS and of the relevant APS College e.g. Clinical Psychology
