About the department

The Radiology department provides the following services to all patients of Alfred Health and to general practitioners and specialists outside The Alfred:

  • Angiography
  • Bone Densitometry
  • Computed Tomography (CT Scan)
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Mammography
  • Urology
  • Ultrasound
  • General Radiography (X-ray)
  • Contracted services for clinical trials
  • Education
  • Clinical conferences      

The Interventional Neuroradiology Division currently has 5 consultants and 1 full time fellow. They work closely with the Neurology and Neurosurgery departments to provide a neurovascular service from endovascular clot retrievals, embolization of aneurysms/AVMs, tumours and diagnostic angiography.

About the role

Applications are invited for the position of Specialist in Interventional Neuroradiology (Part Time)  to work 19 hours (2 days) per week.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or  reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.
  • Be eligible to be registered with the Conjoint Committee For Recognition of Training In Interventional Neuroradiology (CCINR).
  • Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Interventional Neuroradiology
  • Meets Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in INR.
  • Experience in teaching and an involvement in research are desirable.
