About the Department

Home, Acute and Community (HAC) is a clinical program across Alfred Health based at Caulfield Hospital, playing an integral role within Victoria’s health care system, supporting people to maximise their independence and functioning and minimising long-term healthcare needs. HAC oversees a diverse group of services promoting effective seamless care, from acute care back into the community. These services are provided in hospital, community based settings and in peoples homes.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit

The CRU provides programs of education and/or supervised exercise for clients with coronary artery disease, chronic heart failure, other cardiac conditions or those who require risk factor modification. Clients attend two mornings per week for a six week program, or longer, depending upon their diagnosis and need.

About the Role

Applications are invited for the position of Specialist in Cardiology - Rehabilitation Medicine (Fractional) at Alfred Health to work 7 hours per week, to provide service in Cardiology within the Rehabilitation unit.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:

  • Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice
  • Fellow of the relevant college
  • Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Cardiology, General Medicine or Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Meeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Cardiology, General Medicine or Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Outstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels
  • Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/ other teams.
