About us

Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services for children, youth, adult and aged people with mental health difficulties residing in the inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

The single most important goal of Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.  

AMAH Workforce Development and Education is a dynamic interdisciplinary team made up of clinicians and lived experience workers providing training and education to Nursing and Allied Health staff working in all areas of mental and addiction health. We work closely with management and staff to support cultural change and personal development using a collaborative approach.

What you’ll be doing

As the Occupational Therapy Educator, you will be responsible for discipline specific leadership, workforce planning, implementation and evaluation in AMAH. In this role, you will support the integrity of clinical practice standards, credentialing, oversight of undergraduate and entry-level programs and vision for future workforce. 

You will partner with lived experience leaders and other disciplines to support continuing evolution of a model of care consistent with the recommendations of the Royal Commission in Mental Health.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications and registration/eligibility for membership with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 10 years’ post graduate experience in mental health
  • Appropriate work visa
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
