The Role

An exciting opportunity presents for a suitably qualified Occupational Therapist to join the large and supportive OT Department at Alfred Health. The successful candidate will work as a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist in Neurological and Burns rehabilitation on ward AC2 providing evidence-based occupational therapy assessment and intervention across a variety of neurological conditions (including Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury and Multiple Sclerosis) and Burns rehabilitation.

This position may also extend to offer the unique opportunity of supporting sub-acute, inpatient activity across both the Alfred Hospital and Sandringham Hospital sites. 

The role is well supported to encourage new, emerging or transitioning Grade 2 clinicians to continue to develop their clinical and leadership skills. Additionally, the role will be supported by Senior Occupational Therapists working in neurological rehabilitation, and enables opportunities for autonomy and leadership for Grade 2 clinicians looking for career progression into more senior roles. There are opportunities to work at a range of Alfred Health sites and develop a strong understanding of a patient’s journey through the continuum of inpatient care.

Skills and Experience Required 

  • B. App Sc (OT), B. Occupational Therapy, MOT prac or recognised equivalent
  • Full Registration held with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (via AHPRA)
  • Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership)
  • Minimum three years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy
  • Flexibility and adaptability in both clinical service provision and interactions with the team
  • The ability to work effectively as an Allied Health Professional by being able to demonstrate an ability to work within and across teams
