The Department
Alfred Health People & Culture is responsible for the overall delivery of numerous Human Resources related services to the organisation. People & Culture incorporates HR Operations, Organisational Development and Safety and Wellbeing. The operational component of Human Resources includes Employee Relations, Recruitment, HR Systems and HR Business Partnering and Advisory Services. This group is responsible for providing day to day and strategic HR advice and services on a range of issues, including workforce planning, policy interpretation, legislative compliance in relation to industrial agreements, performance management advice, the end-to-end attraction of talent and recruitment services, retention initiatives and general HR advice to employees and managers alike.
The Role
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner is a supervisory role within the Human Resources (HR) department at Alfred Health. This position is responsible for supporting the HR Business Partner (HRBP) team and ensuring the delivery of effective HR services to various departments and business units within the organisation. The role will be the first point of contact to provide proficient advice, guidance, support and professional expertise in all workplace matters for the HRBP team.
This role will provide support to the Manager, HR Business Partnering and Advisory Services on workforce requirements and initiatives including workforce planning, delineation of tasks and work groups, professional development and training and performance management.
Additionally, this role will provide high-level support to senior leaders, line managers and staff through the provision of multi-faceted human resource services, proficient advice and professional expertise. They provide, coaching and support to managers within a dedicated operational stakeholder group, with an emphasis on workforce planning, employee development, performance management, workforce diversity, conflict management, workplace investigations and Enterprise Agreement, policy and guideline interpretation and compliance to achieve best practice people outcomes.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- An applicable tertiary qualification in business or health science.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an HRBP or similar position in a large and complex environment.
- Proven experience in numerous HR matters including performance management techniques and practices, complaints management, workplace investigations, workforce planning, change management
- Strong and proven stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision and direction
Desirable:
- HRBP/Generalist HR experience in a large public healthcare provider
- Previous experience leading a team of HR professionals
