We are now seeking a skilled and detail-oriented UKG Solutions Architect to join our dynamic HRIS project team. This is an exciting opportunity to join the project and help shape our future post our recent Health Service merger.
The Department
The Finance Program provides financial and ancillary services to Alfred Health. These include Financial Accounting, Financial Services, Data and Analytics, Performance Monitoring and Reporting, Capital Expenditure and Asset Management, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Patient Revenue Services, Treasury, HRIS and Payroll, Procurement, Property and Supply Chain.
The Role
The Solutions Architect for UKG Pro Workforce Management (WFM) plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimising workforce management solutions across the enterprise. This role ensures that UKG Pro WFM capabilities are aligned with business needs, delivering scalable, compliant, and user-friendly solutions for timekeeping, scheduling, leave management, and labour optimisation. Collaborating across People & Culture, Finance, IT, and external support partners to optimise existing systems and introduce improvements in functionality and training where needed.
Key Duties and Responsiblities
Solution Design & Architecture
- Lead the design of UKG Pro WFM solutions tailored to business requirements
- Define system architecture and ensure alignment with organisational goals
Technical Expertise
- Serve as SME for UKG Pro WFM modules, including Timekeeper, Accruals, Scheduling, Leave, and Attendance.
- Customise modules to meet operational needs and improve efficiency. Integration & Implementation
- Design and support integrations with enterprise systems using APIs and middleware (e.g., Dell Boomi).
- Oversee end-to-end implementation, including configuration, testing, deployment, and hypercare. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT, and Operations teams to translate business needs into technical solutions. Process Optimisation & Reporting
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Develop reporting strategies and workflows using tools like DataHub or UKG Analytics
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure solutions comply with Enterprise Agreements and internal policies across.
- Maintain system documentation and change control processes. Mentorship & Leadership
- Guide junior team members and contribute to capability development.

- Ensures Alfred Health (Bayside) maximises the use of systems, tools, and processes based on best practice and that all systems meet statutory requirements.
- System templates, documentation and supporting materials are up to date and provide adequate support to enable the self-led management of people processes by managers and employees alike
- Systems updates, upgrades and enhancements are planned and implemented in a timely and efficient manner, with comprehensive testing and validation plans
- Liaising with the systems user community to raise and resolve product defects
- Monitor and manage inbound and outbound system interfaces, in close partnership with other key stakeholders
- Coordinating and facilitating stakeholder focus groups and end-user training workshops, including preparing training documentation and ensuring users are adequately trained and supported in the systems
