About the Department
The Department of Gastroenterology provides a comprehensive range of gastroenterology services for the management of patients with all types of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases. The Department conducts a number of subspecialty clinics addressing specific needs.

About the Role
Applications are invited for the position of Specialist in Gastroenterology (Fractional) at Alfred Care Group, working 4.5 hours a fortnight in the Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders service based at Caulfield hospital The Functional GI Disorders service offers multi-discipline care. You will be working alongside Gastroenterologists, clinical nurse specialists, dietitians, psychologist, hypnotherapist and consultant liaison psychiatrists to improve symptoms and function of individuals with Disorders of Gut Brain Interaction. 

Qualifications and Skills Required
Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:

• Be legally qualified practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
• Fellow of the relevant college.
• Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.
• Meeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.
• Outstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels.
• Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/ other teams.
• A higher degree (PhD, MD etc) would be highly valued but is not essential.

These positions are rare in the public hospital system and interested parties who have interest in expanding their role in the future at The Alfred would be most welcome.
