About us

7 West is a 36 bed ward providing 24/7 care to patients admitted under the Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology and Palliative Care medical units. We pride ourselves on operating only within a team nursing model of care. The 7 West CNM position offers an opportunity to build partnerships with various clinicians across the Infectious Diseases, Medical Specialties and Cancer programs and is comprised of 6 non-direct and 4 direct (clinical) shifts per fortnight.

About the role

The Clinical Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager in supporting & developing staff to deliver excellence in clinical practice, managing clinical risk and implementing systems and processes to improve patient progression of person centred care. The Clinical Nurse Manager will have a clinical focus and be a recognized resource for all staff to assist in achieving best practice to provide positive patient outcomes. The Clinical Nurse Manager will have the capacity to lead change and influence a working culture to achieve a higher standard of person centred care. Working with the Nurse Manager, the Clinical Nurse Manager will operationalize the core values of Nursing at Alfred Health by ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff. The Clinical Nurse Manager is a leader who actively contributes to meeting key organizational imperatives and changing demands in managing patient demands and the achievement of key performance indicators.

About you

  • Current Registered Nurse Division 1 Registration with AHPRA\
  • Extensive relevant clinical experience in acute care nursing and in a clinical leadership role
  • Postgraduate qualifications in management or working towards an equivalent qualification
  • Current and satisfactory Police Check
  • Current and satisfactory Working With Children Check
