About us
Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services, which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.
The single most important goal of AMAH is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.
The State-wide Services include WREN - Women’s Recovery Network Ramsay Albert Road Clinic and Ngami Wilam - Residential Eating Disorders Treatment Centre in Armadale.
We recognise that women experiencing mental ill-health have specific needs that require tailored treatment and support that is trauma informed and wellness focused.
WREN is a 30-bed facility located at Albert Road Clinic will be run in a partnership between Ramsay Health and Alfred Health. The unit provides a state-wide comprehensive specialist service for women and those who identify as women experiencing severe mental ill-health and trauma.
Ngamai Wilam is Victoria's first residential Eating Disorder Treatment Centre, set to open in early 2025 in Armadale. This 12-bed facility will offer a unique therapeutic model of care that emphasises a robust peer workforce.
With the addition of Ngamai Wilam along with WREN, Alfred Health now holds the largest public-sector eating disorder treatment program in Victoria. This expansion underscores Alfred Health's commitment to delivering comprehensive and empathetic care for individuals experiencing eating disorders.
About the Role:
The Data Analyst will work within the AMAH Data and Health Information team to set up a sustainable reporting framework to provide leadership and clinical teams with access to timely and accurate data to inform service improvement and planning.
This is a new position established to support AMAH prepare for significant changes. The focus of this role is setting up reporting infrastructure for AMAH’s Statewide Services including Women’s Recovery Network (WREN) and Ngamai Wilam. Additionally, you will assist with preparing for activity-based funding and setting up the general reporting infrastructure for AMAH. Access to timely, meaningful information will be integral to service planning, securing appropriate funding and providing the best possible care to our consumers.
The position will be based primarily at the St Kilda Road office and WREN sites. The position will also have responsibilities to other programs within AMAH. Travel between sites will be required.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate health or technology field
- Good IT skills and experience working with SQL databases and reporting/dashboard tools
- Advanced SQL / DAX skills
- Experience with ETL, data architecture, data modelling, and database design
- Experience in working with large complex data sets
- Performance reporting and data analysis experience
- Experience working in the health sector and knowledge of Public Health (desirable)
- Health sector / mental health experience (desirable)
- Australian working rights
- Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
