About us

The Allied Health Program operates a centralised Appliance Centre model across Alfred Health, with sites based at The Alfred, Caulfield Hospital and Sandringham Hospital. The Appliance Centre is tasked with the supply and management of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy aids/equipment items to facilitate ‘safe and effective’ patient discharge.  Core aids/equipment items are ordered via the Appliance Centre and are then either added to an in-house equipment hire pool or on-sold to patients.  Supply of non-core equipment is arranged via hire agreements with external equipment suppliers with the Appliance Centre coordinating payment of accounts.

The Administrative worker demonstrates the ability to manage stock inventory and billing functions (including IT systems/processes) and is required to exercise a degree of individual judgement to anticipate and solve defined problems.
