DEPARTMENT:
The Pharmacy Department is a recognised leader in the provision of comprehensive contemporary pharmacy services and has integrated clinical, educational, research and stewardship programs. This includes unit based and patient centred clinical pharmacy programs supported by established education programs including foundation and advanced training residencies as well as formalised credentialing programs for many innovative clinical roles. The Pharmacy Department prioritises the delivery of excellence in patient care and the development, evaluation and adoption of innovative practices that improve the services provided.
Alfred Health has a large elective and emergency surgical program consisting of multiple units, including Burns, Acute General Surgery, Breast and Endocrine, Colorectal, Ear, Nose and Throat, Faciomaxillary, Hepatopancreato-Biliary Orthopaedics, Oesophago-gastric/ Bariatric, Plastics, Trauma, Vascular and Urology.

POSITION:
The Senior Pharmacist - Surgical Services position is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of clinical pharmacy services to a portfolio of surgical units across Alfred Health. The position will also be responsible for supervision and development of clinical pharmacists working within these services. In addition, the post-holder will work in collaboration with the other Lead and Senior Pharmacists within Surgical Services and other specialties to develop clinical services of all surgical patients.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Registered pharmacist with AHPRA
Relevant clinical post-graduate qualification such as Masters in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
Extensive experience in the provision of clinical pharmacy services including experience in surgery
Experience in perioperative medicine and critical care highly desirable
Extensive hospital pharmacy experience with a demonstrated understanding of contemporary practice in hospital clinical pharmacy services, QuM and therapeutics
