The Department
The Staff Immunisation and Exposure Management Unit works with the Infection Prevention and Healthcare Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases Units to provide a comprehensive immunisation and exposure management service across Alfred Health.
Based at The Alfred with satellite immunisation services provided at Caulfield and Sandringham Hospitals. The service is supported by an Infectious Diseases Physician one session per week.
Position Summary
An exciting opportunity to join the highly successful staff Influenza Vaccination Program. The Staff Influenza Vaccination Nurse will work with other members of the Staff Immunisation and Exposure Management Team and the Infection Prevention Team to promote health care worker immunisation services during the Influenza vaccination campaign. As Staff Influenza Vaccination Nurse delegated you will be directly responsible for screening, documentation, vaccination administration and initiatives to improve immunisation uptake across Alfred Health. As Staff Influenza Vaccination Nurse you will work under the direction of the Manager of the Infection Prevention and Healthcare Epidemiology Unit or delegate.
All Staff Influenza Vaccination Nurses will be required to work across all sites and across all shift rotations throughout the campaign.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required
- Registered Nurse (Division 1) current registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (Essential)
- Must be a recognised accredited nurse immuniser (Essential)
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and recommend intervention strategies
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to deliver and developed effective education to staff
- Current Drivers Licence (Desirable)
