  • Salary Range: $101k - $121k (Depending on Experience & Discipline)

About us

Alfred Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS) is friendly to infants, children, young people and their families/carers.  

We provide accessible mental health services inclusive of family, friends and support networks.  

We are a specialist, multi-disciplinary and intensive care mental health service incorporating the lived and living experience of family peer specialists and youth peer workers.  

Our service is divided into two streams 0-11 and 12-26 years, and includes specialist services in the areas of perinatal care, neurodevelopmental presentations, eating disorders and outreach support.

What you'll be doing

  • The Senior Clinician will be part of a supportive interdisciplinary team, reporting to the Inner South Sector Team Leader.
  • Care will involve the young person, their family, and support networks, combining lived experience and clinical staff.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised person to provide clinical assessment and intervention, case-management and single session/brief therapy with children and young people experiencing emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties and their families.

Along with the relevant professional registration or membership, you’ll have demonstrated capability in the provision of a full range of mental health interventions at a senior level .

Registered Nurse (min 5 years experience)
  • Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent OR Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent plus an approved postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
Occupational Therapist (min 7 years experience)
  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia via AHPRA to practice with the National Board.
Speech Therapist (min 7 years experience)
  • Registration as a speech therapist with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
Social Worker (min 7 years experience)
  • Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Worker (AASW)
  • Desirable  - Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
Psychologist (min 5 years experience)
  • Current registration as a psychologist with Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) via AHPRA to practice with the board
  • Endorsement as a clinical psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 or eligibility and willingness to participate in a registrar training program leading to endorsement.
  • A masters or doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology

You'll also have to complete/provide a valid Victorian Working with Children Check, be willing to undergo a background check, and you'll require Australian working rights.
