About the Department
Alfred Health Pharmacy is well recognised for high quality and innovative patient- focused services, education and training programmes as well as significant research output. The service operates over 4 sites within Alfred Health, and continually advocates for postgraduate learning and research interests, with supportive partnerships and expert mentors available to foster staff development.
The department also has a leading Digital Health strategy, playing a pivotal role in managing the electronic medication management system within our comprehensive electronic medical record (Cerner), with an advanced level of integration linking this to the Pharmacy Dispensing (iPharmacy) and Automated Medication Storage systems (Omnicell). This is complemented by a strong clinical presence and a Centre for Medicine Use and Safety program to achieve a considered, safe and financially responsible approach to medication management within Alfred Heath.

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist with experience in clinical pharmacy in a hospital setting to join our clinical pharmacy team on a short term basis. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best medication management outcomes for individual patients. You will contribute to improving medication management on a larger scale through contributing to practice based research projects and service and practice improvement work. As Alfred Health is an academic health centre, you will supervise and mentor local and international students as well as intern pharmacists.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Registered pharmacist with AHPRA Pharmacy Board of Australia
To succeed as a Clinical Pharmacist at Alfred Health you need to demonstrate:
- Excellent clinical skills, knowledge, judgment and reasoning
- Experience in the provision of clinical pharmacy services in a hospital
- Patient-centred approach to care
- Excellent communication and time management skills with the ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work and deliver to deadlines
- Problem solving and risk assessment abilities and the ability to use initiative
- Commitment to developing as a clinician through post-graduate study
