The Department

The Adult and Older Adult Department combines the strengths of Alred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH) Adult Community Mental Health and Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Services. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, person-centred support to adults and older adults through an expansive range of therapeutic, addiction, trauma-informed, and family violence services.

As part of our commitment to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health recommendations and the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, we’re expanding our offerings to ensure clients benefit from specialist expertise alongside access to innovative, broad-spectrum care options. This includes specialized pathways for substance use disorders, rehabilitation and recovery, physical and mental health integration, and trauma-focused services.

The Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the mental health sector? Our department focuses on integrated treatment, education, peer support, care planning, and navigation services, designed to support individuals through every stage of their recovery journey.

As one of our Mental Health Clinicians, you will work with an allocated client list, to provide case management, treatment and support services, as well providing discipline specific input to the multidisciplinary team. You will also have opportunities to contribute to the development of your discipline, not only to CCT, but also within AMAH as a whole.

Experience and Qualifications Required

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications and either current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board via AHPRA, or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers, preferably with Psychiatric endorsements or equivalent.

Experience in a range of psychiatric interventions indicating an ability to perform community-based psychiatric assessment including that of risk assessment is essential

Other requirements

  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and other relevant Legislation and their relevance to this client population
  • Sound knowledge of the associated disabilities that often co-exist with mental health conditions and be able to demonstrate skills in a broad range of psychiatric and psychosocial interventions for consumers referred to CCT.
  • A current driver’s licence is required to undertake this role.
  • Australian working rights, satisfactory completion of Working with Children Check and current Influenza vaccination
