About Us

Ngamai Wilam is a newly built 12-bed residential eating disorder treatment facility in Armadale. Jointly funded by the Australian Federal Government and the Victorian Government, this specialist statewide service will be managed by Alfred Care Group.

Ngamai Wilam provides 24/7 trauma-informed, recovery-focused care for adults aged 18 and over in a gender-inclusive, home-like therapeutic environment. With a strong emphasis on family and chosen supports, our team is dedicated to person-centred care that promotes long-term recovery.

About the Role

  • Play a vital role in supporting individuals through their recovery journey in a residential setting.
  • Provide person-centred, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Monitor participants’ mental and physical health, support daily therapeutic activities, and contribute to care planning.
  • Deliver evidence-informed interventions tailored to the unique needs of individuals experiencing eating disorders.
  • Work within the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (2022) and other relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate with the clinical and lived experience workforce to foster a therapeutic environment that upholds dignity, choice, and self-determination.

About You

EN

  • Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) with AHPRA registration.
  • Medication Endorsement (must be listed on AHPRA registration).

RN

  • Registered Nurse (AHPRA) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing or currently working towards (desirable).
  • Experience in mental health nursing and/or eating disorders.
  • Commitment to recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience in residential, inpatient, or community mental health settings.
  • Experience providing therapeutic care for individuals with eating disorders across hospital, community, or specialist settings.
  • Knowledge of Dialogical Practice and its application in mental health care (desirable).
  • Australian working rights.
  • Current Influenza vaccination
  • Current Victorian Driver License, Working with Children Check, and Background Check.
