About us

The Psychological Trauma Service is a multidisciplinary team supporting individuals with complex trauma and personality difficulties. It takes a holistic and flexible approach, working with individuals and their support networks to understand distress and guide recovery. Combining clinical and lived experience, the service provides education, consultation, and tailored therapies, including psychological, body-sensory, art-based, and psychopharmacological options.

The service focuses on trauma stabilization, memory processing, and integration, emphasising social connection and family involvement. It also offers expertise in working with older adults and improving trauma care, ensuring all support is informed by the individual’s culture, values, and priorities.

About the role

The PTS Clinician will, under the supervision and direction of senior PTS staff, provide direct clinical services including assessment and evidence-based therapy/therapies to consumers of the PTS. 

About you

  • Approved tertiary qualifications and eligibility for membership with relevant registering body

    Nursing/ Social Work/ Occupational Therapy

  • Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board / Occupational Therapy Board via AHPRA or accreditation with AASW
  • Recent post graduate experience a community mental health setting.
  • Post Graduate qualifications in mental health nursing (for nursing applicants) are desirable

    Psychology

  • Master or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
  • Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
  • Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 or working towards endorsement as part of the Psychology Board of Australia registrar program
  • Membership of the APS and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists is desirable.
  • Australian working rights
  • 2026 Influenza vaccination
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
