The Department

The Alfred Health Psychology Department comprises of approximately 130psychologists, including Clinical Psychologists, Clinical-Forensic Psychologists and Clinical Neuropsychologists.  The Psychology Department has a large multi-site post-graduate student placement program operating across clinical psychology, neuropsychology, and forensic psychology; a rotational psychology registrar program, and a well-established learning and development program for psychology registrars. 

The Psychology Department is progressive and supportive of staff, providing great opportunities for knowledge and skill development through supervision and a professional development program for all psychology staff. Psychologists are based at The Alfred Hospital (Acute Health), Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH), Caulfield Hospital (Subacute, rehabilitation and community services), and Sandringham Hospital. Alfred Health Psychology Services are professionally part of the Allied Health Service.

Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Psychologist to work on a casual basis to provide backfill during periods of staff leave. You will be responsible for providing a range of psychological services including assessments, formulation and treatments. You may also be involved in developing and implementing positive behaviour support plans. This is a great opportunity to develop your clinical skills in working with a broad range of presentations.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • An approved degree with a major in psychology and post-graduate qualifications (Masters or Doctorate) in psychology
  • General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia 
  • Endorsement as a Clinical psychologist (desirable)
  • Membership of the APS and the APS College of Clinical psychologists (desirable)
