  • Fixed Term until March 2027 (Parental Leve)
  • Full time Grade 2 Occupational Therapist (VF6-VF9) - Integrative Oncology Unit, Outpatients, Alfred Cancer (3 days) and Occupational Therapist Acute Haematology / Oncology Services (2 days), part time applications will be considered

An exciting opportunity is now available for a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join our team, working across two sites in outpatient oncology care and inpatient acute haematology / oncology services

About the role

As a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist in the new Integrative Oncology Unit, you'll play a pivotal role in optimising the health and wellbeing of oncology patients through helping patients manage the physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges that arise during cancer treatment. You will conduct comprehensive assessments and tailor individualised supportive care plans that support patients during and beyond treatment, in line with their health and wellbeing goals. Collaborating closely with the integrative oncology team and broader cancer healthcare teams, you'll integrate evidence-based strategies to mitigate treatment side effects, enhance recovery, and improve overall quality of life. Your role will also involve delivering and evaluating multidisciplinary group based educational initiatives for patients and families. You will also contribute to supportive care research, multidisciplinary program development, and quality improvement efforts within the unit. Skills and Experience Required

  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy, with oncology experience preferred
  • Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, and eligibility for OTA membership
  • Clinical experience and knowledge of client-centred, occupational service delivery in an acute setting
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and modify service delivery in accordance with evidence-based practice
  • Experience working within an interdisciplinary team with strong interpersonal skills 
  • A strong commitment to ongoing learning and development
  • Flexibility and adaptability in both clinical service provision and interactions with the team
  • Experience in supervision of junior staff and students is highly desirable

Experience/Qualifications

  • B. App Sc (OT), B. Occupational Therapy, MOT prac or recognised equivalent.
  • Full Registration held with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership).
  • Minimum three years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License (unrestricted).
  • Current Working with Children’s Check.
