The Role

The Grade 4 Occupational Therapy Student Clinical Educator is a key member of the Occupational Therapy Leadership team. This role will lead excellience in undergraduate student clinical education, teaching and training. We are looking for an identified occupational therapy clinical expert and leader passionate in occupational therapy student education. This role is responsible for fostering the operational and strategic oversight of the undergraduate occupational therapy student clinical education program, across Alfred Health. It will involve close collaboration and communication with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders, including partnerships with tertiary providers. 

Qualifications Required

  • Occupational therapy qualification (with at least 10 years' experience in clinical, education and/or leadership roles)
  • Post graduate studies in a relevant field, or working towards the same
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License (unrestricted)

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Applied knowledge of multi-modal design, implementation and evaluation of education models
  • Applied knowledge of programme development supporting the competence, capability and capacity of occupational therapy students
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and implement clinical education/teaching programs, to foster innovation, evidence-based practice and optimum organisational outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of the student placement process in Victoria
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and highly developed interpersonal communication, liaison and negotiating skills
  • Well-developed leadership skills, including the ability to undertake professional supervision/ development and performance management discussions with undergraduate, professional and postgraduate levels, and to provide coaching, mentoring  and peer support

Desirable

  • Experience in the development of e-learning packages/modules
  • Experience in leading change initiatives and/ or project management
