- 12-Month Program with Ongoing Position upon completion
- Part-Time at 0.8 EFT (Intakes: 10th August, 7th September and 5th October)
- Registered Nurse Grade 2 Classifications with at least 12 months experience (YP3 - YP5)
Position Summary
Participants in Transition to Practice (TSP) programs will undertake a program of study days and clinical skill development over a 12-month period. The educational content will be delivered over a 6-month, with clinical skill consolidation and support over 12 months. All positions are ongoing with Bayside Health. Participants will usually transition into postgraduate study in the speciality area following the TSP program, however, some may choose to return to the wider Bayside Health context with enhanced skills and knowledge.
Learning Objectives
- Pre-learning objectives to ensure an appropriate theoretical foundation of anatomy and physiology
- Advanced patient assessment skills in the specialty environment
- Competent analysis and synthesis of assessment data in responding to patient variations and deterioration in clinical status within the context.
- Prioritise and implement evidence-based nursing practice for the acutely unwell patient
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- RN with a minimum of 12 months experience (GNP completed)
- Current employment at a minimum of 0.8 EFT in a relevant clinical area for the duration of the program as agreed by the NM
- These positions are suitable for nurses with acute public hospital nursing experience
