About the MS, Neuroimmunology and CAR-T Service
The Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroimmunology and CAR-T (MSNI) Service at Alfred Health is one of Australia's leading tertiary referral centres for the diagnosis and management of complex neuroimmunological disorders. The service provides multidisciplinary care for patients with multiple sclerosis, autoimmune encephalitis, NMOSD, MOG antibody disease, CNS vasculitis, neurosarcoidosis and other inflammatory neurological disorders, as well as neurological assessment and management of patients undergoing CAR-T cell therapy. Working closely with Monash University, the service integrates world-class clinical care, clinical trials and translational research to improve outcomes for patients across Victoria and nationally.
About the RoleAn exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and highly organised Administrative Officer to join the Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroimmunology and CAR-T Service at Alfred Health on a fixed-term, part-time basis. This position will provide administrative support across our rapidly expanding clinical service, ensuring efficient coordination of outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary activities, patient communications and clinical workflows. This is a temporary backfill position. During this period, Olivia Asquini will undertake the Administrative Coordinator role to cover Kelly's leave, and this position will backfill Olivia's substantive role for three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the MS, Neuroimmunology and CAR-T Service.
- Coordinate outpatient clinic appointments, referrals and waiting lists.
- Manage patient correspondence, appointment scheduling and telephone enquiries.
- Assist with clinician diaries and multidisciplinary meeting coordination.
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical databases.
- Prepare clinic documentation and support day-to-day service operations.
- Liaise with patients, clinicians and external healthcare providers to facilitate efficient patient care.
- Undertake general administrative duties as required.
About You
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience in a healthcare administrative role.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High-level computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred service.
Previous experience in a specialist outpatient or hospital environment will be highly regarded.
