The Department
The Chronic Wound Clinic (CWC) is a multidisciplinary service providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, intervention, management and education to clients with chronic wounds i.e. greater than 4 weeks in duration. The clinic provides time-limited and goal-centred management of clients who require best practice wound management which may include compression, wound debridement and dressing selection advice.
The Chronic Wound Clinic operates one day per week (Tuesday) in the Caulfield Consulting Clinics and is staffed by a Clinical Nurse Consultant, Registered Nurses with wound management expertise, Podiatrists specialising in high risk foot wounds, Medical Practitioners (Geriatricians) and Administration Officers.
The Role
This position provides coordination and leadership for the Chronic Wound Clinic. The CWC Coordinator is responsible for managing a clinical caseload to improve outcomes related to wound care. The role involves consultation and education to staff working within the Chronic Wound Clinic regarding best practice in wound management. In conjunction with the Operations Manager, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator will monitor the operational efficiency of the Clinic to ensure achievement of operational and financial targets. This position is responsible for the development and fostering of a customer service approach to the delivery of services. You will be part of the dynamic Health of Older People stream with opportunities for education and collaboration.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Current Registered as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
- Advanced clinical knowledge and skills in Wound Management
- Masters or working towards (Enrolled and at a minimum have completed units to grad cert level)
- Experience in the management of Lymphoedema/Chronic Oedema, qualification as Level 1 Lymphoedema Practitioner (Lower limbs) or working towards
