The Department

The Digital Health Division is responsible for enabling clinical staff to deliver timely, quality care to our patients and carers through innovative use of information technologies, and through strategic management of information and data across the organisation.

The Digital Health division encompasses all aspects of:

• Information technology procurement, delivery, security and support.
• Electronic Medical Record and a suite of Clinical Applications, Technologies and Products
• Digital Technology
• Data Governance and research
• Cybersecurity
• Transformation 

The Role

The Business Analyst will support the analysis, definition and documentation of business, functional and transition requirements within the Bayside Digital Identity and Microsoft Foundations Program, including activities relating to digital identity, secure access, Microsoft 365 foundations, tactical collaboration and related transition planning across Bayside Health.

The role will work closely with Digital Health teams, care group representatives, corporate services, Public Affairs, Architecture, Security, vendors and other program stakeholders to understand current-state processes, identify requirements, document gaps and support practical planning for staged delivery.

The Business Analyst will translate business needs into clear requirements, options, process documentation and decision-support materials, while supporting discovery, solution design, testing, change readiness and transition planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Elicit, analyse, validate and document business, functional and transition requirements for assigned program activities.
• Conduct current-state analysis across relevant care group environments, including user journeys, access processes, collaboration practices, Microsoft 365 usage, pain points, gaps and dependencies.
• Develop and maintain requirements documentation, including business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, process maps, gap analysis, decision logs and requirements traceability.
• Support tactical collaboration planning by documenting business needs relating to people search, single email pathway, calendar visibility, Teams communication and limited document collaboration.
• Support Microsoft 365 foundation planning by analysing requirements relating to email, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, document collaboration, information management and transition planning.
• Support digital identity and secure access planning by documenting requirements relating to identity lifecycle, access requests, role-based access, application dependencies and stakeholder validation.
• Work with project managers, solution architects, technical teams and vendors to translate business requirements into clear solution inputs, options and implementation considerations.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews and working sessions with clinical, corporate, technical and operational stakeholders to confirm requirements, validate assumptions and resolve gaps.
• Identify and document risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions and business impacts relating to requirements, design options, testing, migration and transition activities.
• Support testing activities, including development of acceptance criteria, test scenarios, UAT planning, defect triage and business validation.
• Support governance and decision-making by preparing clear analysis summaries, options papers, briefing notes and project documentation.

Skills:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst on ICT or digital projects in complex organisational environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business and technical issues into clear requirements, options and actions.
• Demonstrated experience eliciting, analysing, validating and documenting business, functional and transition requirements.
• Experience in process mapping, gap analysis, current-state analysis and business impact assessment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills across technical, corporate, clinical, operational and leadership groups.
• Strong workshop facilitation, communication and documentation skills.
• Experience developing requirements documentation, user stories, process maps, acceptance criteria and traceability matrices.
• Experience supporting testing activities, including test scenario development, user acceptance testing, defect triage and business validation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in changing or ambiguous environments.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, digital workplace, digital identity, secure access, merger, consolidation or technology transition initiatives will be highly regarded.
