About us

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services, which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

The single most important goal of AMAH is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.

The newly developed Hospital and Emergency Services Department provides a range of clinical services delivered by two streams of care including Inpatient Services and Consultation Liaison and Emergency Psychiatry Services.

What you’ll be doing

The AMAH After Hours Senior Nurse will be on site at the inpatient psychiatric units, Alfred Hospital, including the Older Adult in-patient unit, with rostering covering 7 days per week, from 1400 – 2230 Monday to Friday and 0800 – 1630 Saturday and Sunday.

They will be responsible for managing inpatient psychiatry operations, business continuity, and emergency situations during these hours, while supporting high quality patient care and outcomes.

About you

  • Approved tertiary qualifications and registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
  • Evidence of Post graduate qualifications in Mental Health or Health Management
  • Minimum of 5 years post registration experience in an in-patient setting including at a minimum ANUM level
  • Australian working rights
  • Full Covid-19 and 2024 Influenza vaccinations
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
