The Department

The School of Translational Medicine (STM) is a leading biomedical and clinical research school within Monash University, bringing together world-class researchers, clinicians and educators to improve health outcomes through innovative, multidisciplinary research. The Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research Group, led by Professor Miles Sparrow, is dedicated to advancing clinical research that improves the lives of people living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

The Role

The Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Research Coordinator plays a key role in coordinating and managing clinical research within the Department of Gastroenterology at Alfred Health. Working closely with investigators, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, the position oversees all aspects of clinical trials and research studies, including participant recruitment, data management, ethics and regulatory compliance, and study administration. The role ensures research is conducted to the highest ethical and clinical standards while supporting the successful delivery of research outcomes that improve patient care.

Experience and Qualifications Required

Essential

• Registered Nurse with Nursing Board of Australia via APHPA
• Current and Satisfactory Police Check

Desirable

• Previous experience in clinical research of Gastroenterology
• Significant post registration experience of at least 2 years with demonstrated skills in patient care.
• Good Clinical Research Practice Certificate.
• IATA Certificate.
