The Department
The newly integrated Adult and Older Adult Service combines AMAH Adult Community Mental Health and Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Services to provide comprehensive, person-centred support for adults and older adults. We offer a wide range of therapeutic, addiction, trauma-informed, and family violence services.
In line with the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health recommendations and the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, we are expanding our services to provide specialized expertise and broad-spectrum care, including pathways for substance use, rehabilitation, recovery, and trauma-focused care.
Our approach focuses on integrated treatment, education, peer support, care planning, and navigation, supporting individuals at every stage of their recovery journey.
You’ll have the opportunity to work in areas such as:
- Navigations and Continuing Care: Brief Intervention, Access and Intake, CMHT, Physical Health, and Family Services
- Adult Rehabilitation and Recovery: MSTS, CCU, PARC, HOPS, and SECU
- Aged/Older Adult Mental Health: MAPS, Caulfield Hospital Community Liaison, and inpatient units
- Wellbeing and Therapeutic Services: Psychological Trauma and Capacity Building initiatives

The Role
The Senior Mental Health will provide discipline leadership, supervision and support within a designated team, whilst working with an allocated client list, to provide clinical case management, treatment and support services, as well providing discipline specific input to the multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will also have opportunities to contribute to the development of their discipline, not only to the CMHT, but also within Alfred Mental and Addiction Health as a whole.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Approved tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and eligibility for membership of AHPRA or the appropriate professional body
- Occupational Therapist
- Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to practice with the National Board.
- Social Worker
- Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Demonstrated staff supervision skills and proven ability to provide clinical leadership and management of a multi-disciplinary team and to manage human and financial resources
