We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

The Department
Join our cancer nursing team and experience an extensive range of cancer services.
The Alfred provides a fully integrated range of cancer treatment services and modalities onsite, from surgical diagnosis, ED and ICU support, bone marrow transplantation, medial and radiation oncology and palliative care. This range of co-located cancer services is unique in the Victorian Health System.
On Ward 7 East, you will have the chance to work in our comprehensive service, including non-malignant haematology, allows the effective delivery of both inpatient and outpatient care for blood disorders such as anaemia, acute and chronic leukaemia, myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative disorders, lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
The Role
As a Ward Clerk within Ward 7 East you will be responsible for the coordination of communication, patient services and clerical functions. You will be the first point of contact for many patients, visitors and staff, the Ward Clerk facilitates. You will be required to exhibit excellent customer service and is central to the efficient and effective running of the unit environment.
Experience and Qualification Required
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
- Ability to provide effective clerical support to the interdisciplinary team
- Ability to provide efficient and effective unit administration coordination
- Ability to deliver efficient approaches to electronic data flow
- Basic computer keyboard skills
