Your Alfred Health nursing career starts here!

  • 12-month program
  • Ongoing contract
  • Part-time, 64 hours per fortnight
  • Two six-month rotations for all graduates
  • Intake dates - TBC
  • Alfred Health has 3 campuses: The Alfred, Caulfield Hospital, and Sandringham Hospital (placement will be at any of the three sites)

Join our General Nursing program and work with a friendly and supportive team whilst you develop your career as a professional registered nurse.

Gain valuable experience working in General Medical or Surgical wards, Emergency and Trauma Centre, Aged Care & Rehabilitation, Burns & Plastics, Cardiac & Thoracic, Oncology, and Operating Suites - to name a few!

In addition to the clinical support provided, several structured learning and developmental opportunities are provided throughout your graduate year to support you.

We offer a range of nursing specialities and encourage and support our graduates at all campuses to actively further their professional development.

After successfully completing the Graduate Nurse Program, Alfred Health is offering ongoing permanent positions

  • Register for GNMP PMCV Allocation and Placement Service to obtain your PMCV Computer Match number (mandatory for your Alfred Health application)
  • Provide your referee details to GNMP PMCV Allocation and Placement Service
  • Read the Position Description

  • Please provide your personal email address. We cannot accept your university email.
  • You must upload the following mandatory information:
    - Curriculum Vitae
    - Cover Letter
    - GNMP PMCV match number

    - Academic Transcript with your WAM and GPA score and your university legend for this tool
    - Clinical Appraisals x2 

Applications Close: 11pm AEST, Wednesday 1st July 2026

All candidates will be required to complete an online video interview on the GNMP PMCV Allocation and Placement Service. In addition, Alfred Health will access and review these recorded interviews as part of your application.
