The Department 

The Clinical Governance Unit (CGU) consists of a team of quality and safety professionals who work closely and collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders and teams to foster a culture of risk management, clinical effectiveness and continuous improvement. CGU strategically supports implementation of the clinical governance program across Alfred Health to drive delivery of safe and high-quality patient centred care. 

The Role 

The Clinical Risk Coordinator provides support for incident reporting and management, incident investigation, mortality screening and quality improvement work related to responding to known clinical risks. 

This position sits within Clinical Governance Unit, Alfred Care Group and is based at The Alfred Hospital site. Travel across other sites may be required from time to time.  

Experience and Qualifications Required 

  • Knowledge of clinical risk and quality improvement principles and practices 
  • Excellent inter-personal, communication and negotiation skills 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people; 
  • Strong analytical skills to undertake incident investigation and analysis 
  • Well-developed report writing skills 
  • Database management skills
