The Department

The Physiology Service (incorporating the Lung Function Laboratory and Home Oxygen Service), Respiratory Medicine at the Alfred is one of the largest in Victoria, performing a comprehensive range of physiological assessments using state-of-the-art equipment.

The Role

We currently have a fixed-term, part time Senior Respiratory Scientist position (2 days per week) available. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing, maintaining and coordinating the day to day quality activities of the Physiology Service, and assist the Laboratory Manager in day to day operations. 

The applicant must be available to work Mondays, the second day can be negotiated, though Tuesdays is preferred.

Experience and Qualifications Required

As a Grade Four Scientist, the successful applicant will hold a Bachelor of Science/Applied Science or equivalent and the ANZSRS CRFS credential. The applicant will have a minimum of 10 years’ clinical experience in respiratory physiology with a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of respiratory physiology measurement and associated quality activities.  Demonstrated experience in laboratory management activities is required.
