Applications are invited for the position of Specialist Respiratory Physician in our Lung Transplant Service in the Department of Respiratory Medicine.   The clinical role is focused on providing clinical care to patients within our Lung Transplant Service. This includes inpatient care, outpatient clinics, evaluation of recipient suitability for lung transplantation, donor assessment, donor/recipient matching as well as supporting/initiation of research and education.  The ability to run a Bronchoscopy list independently including transbronchial lung biopsy is anticipated.

It is envisaged the successful candidate will have developed a strong research profile in lung transplant and plans to pursue an academic career. Monash University will provide support and an appropriate (potentially joint) academic appointment to an appropriately qualified successful candidate.

Applicants must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered with the Medical Practitioners’ Board of Victoria, and hold Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Physicians.  Significant experience across wide areas of Respiratory Medicine including Lung Transplantation, together with relevant procedural work is highly desirable.  A higher degree or equivalent research experience is highly desirable. Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research is desirable.
